Sophie Lewis

ASiT Director of Education, NHS
Sophie is an incoming ST3 in Paediatric. She graduated from the University of Southampton in 2016 and decided to return back home to complete her Foundation Training in the Wales Deanery. Sophie joined ASiT last year as the Severn Regional Representative and was elected as Director of Education in March 2021. Through this role she is responsible for overseeing the delivery of 17 regional courses throughout the year; careers and speciality training recruitment events and the delivery of various pre-conference courses. She also sits as trainee representative on the ICBSE, RCS Learning Committee and JCST National Selection Committee meetings. Outside her ASiT role, Sophie is currently completing an MSc in Medical Education at Cardiff University. Her dissertation is looking at the use of reflective learning diaries within surgical training. Through her ASiT she hopes to continue to promote high-quality surgical training.
