Ryan is an NIHR Academic Clinical Fellow in Vascular Surgery based in Yorkshire at the Leeds Institute for Cardiovascular and Metabolic Medicine. After graduating from the University of Birmingham Medical School in 2017, he completed his Academic Foundation Programme in Birmingham before moving to Leeds to commence academic vascular surgery training. In 2020, he graduated from the University of Leeds after completing a PGCert in Health Research. During his time as ASiT Yorkshire and Humber Regional Representative, he collaborated with medical students from Leeds, Sheffield and Hull-York to deliver regional surgical skills courses, networking, and teaching events. This year, he has been involved in leading ASiT council recruitment and working alongside the Honorary Secretary in establishing partnerships with industry representatives to design and deliver educational content to surgical trainees nationwide.
