I qualified from the University of Newcastle upon Tyne in 2002, completed my BST in the Northeast of England and higher surgical training in Glasgow. My post-CCT fellowship was in a high-volume tertiary Head and Neck cancer unit in Auckland, New Zealand. I did an observership in Pennsylvania with Professor Weinstein, founder of Trans-Oral Robotic Surgery (TORS) in July 2015. I completed the da Vinci training programme at the end of 2015 and set up the TORS programme in my Trust in January 2016 shortly after starting my consultant post.
I teach in several H&N anatomy dissection courses, I am the Patient Information lead for ENTUK (https://www.entuk.org/patients/conditions) and a member of the British Association of Head and Neck Oncology (BAHNO) International Collaboration committee.
