President, Association of Surgeons in Training (ASiT)
Martin is the current President of the Association of Surgeons in Training (ASiT) for the UK and Republic of Ireland. ASiT represents over 3500 members from all 10 Surgical Specialties. Martin's clinical background is a General Surgical Registrar in the Northern Ireland Medical and Dental Training Agency (NIMDTA). He graduated from Queen’s University Belfast Medical School in 2016. Following this, he completed foundation and core surgical training in Northern Ireland. For the 2022-2023 academic year, he has been appointed as a NIMDTA ADEPT Clinical Leadership Fellow. In this Fellowship he is based at the Southern Health and Social Care Trust where his project will focus on the role of new technologies in surgical training. He has a passion for medical technologies, equity of access to innovation and quality improvement within health and social care.
