As the first elected president of CBS Plastic Surgeon Mark Henley intends to help improve the working lives of surgeons. Surgery accounts for around 4% NHS expenditure and Consultant Surgeons only 5% of the medical population. Despite being newsworthy, Surgeons have very limited influence regarding allocation of both NHS and BMA resources. Surgical practice differs in nature and environment from other areas of medicine and is beyond the comprehension of most. CBS collaborates with all parties to identify and address concerns before they become major problems. Working together will achieve great things for current and future surgeons so please join!
