Dr Leanne Ashrafian is a Consultant Thoracic Surgeon at Guys and St Thomas’ NHS Trust. She is a clinical academic and holds positions as Honorary Senior Lecturer at King’s College London and Honorary Lecturer at Imperial College London. Dr Ashrafian completed her PhD in 2014 at Imperial College in 2014 and has since developed a broad academic portfolio ranging from meta-analysis and evidence synthesis to epigenetics, metabolomics and translational clinical trials. After completing her robotic thoracic surgical training and the Intuitive Robotic Fellowship in 2020, Dr Ashrafian joined the team at Guys in early 2021. She specialises in minimal access and robotic thoracic surgery and has a particular interest in the growth and incorporation of novel technology into the specialty.
