Jo Marsden
President,
British Association of Day Surgery (BADS)
Until recently, Jo was a consultant breast surgeon at King's College Hospital, London. During her tenure, she developed the first UK day case pathway for breast surgery, which resulted in more than 90% of patients being discharged safely on the same day, including women who had mastectomies. This was identified as an exemplar of care, recommended as best practice by The Department of Health and informed the introduction of Best Practice Tariffs for day case breast surgery. She was elected to the British Association of Day Surgery (BADS) Council in 2015, became publications editor in 2016 and President in 2021.
