Helen Higham
Associate Dean for Simulation and Patient Safety NHSE-SE
Helen is an Associate Professor in the Nuffield Department of Clinical Neurosciences at the University of Oxford, a Consultant Anaesthetist at the Oxford University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust and Associate Dean for Simulation and Patient Safety at Health Education England -Thames Valley.
She is Director of OxSTaR, the University of Oxford’s Simulation Centre, ( www.oxstar.ox.ac.uk ) and the Patient Safety Academy (www.patientsafetyacademy.co.uk ), providing training and support to healthcare professionals and students in the application of human factors to improve quality and safety in healthcare.
She was a founding executive member and a past president of the Association for Simulated Practice in Healthcare in the UK. Her research interests include human factors applied to healthcare and clinical education.
