Marium has graduated from Newcastle University, after which she completed her Foundation Training in the Yorkshire region. She is currently working as a Clinical Teaching Fellow at Hull York Medical School and is attached to the Upper GI department at Hull University Teaching Hospitals Trust. Additionally, she is also an Associate Simulation Fellow at the trust. She is the Chair of the regional Foundation Trainee Surgical Society affiliated with the Royal College of Surgeons, Edinburgh. She shares a passion for global health and surgery having had attachments in healthcare systems in Bangladesh and Indonesia. She is also working with Gender Equity in Global Surgery (GEIGS) this year
