Deborah Eastwood is the immediate past president of the BOA and a consultant paediatric orthopaedic surgeon in London. With the BOA and colleagues and trainees she has worked with the UKHSA and the Radiation Protection teams to identify the extent to which surgical trainees are exposed to ionising radiation and ways in which we can mitigate these risks. Essential requirements if we are to sustain our workforce and allow them to work safely.
