I am a senior surgical trainee with a background in medical engineering. I completed my PhD at Imperial College on medical technology safety and human factors. I have a great interested in safe use of technology in improving surgical care and effective engagement of clinicians, manufacturers and regulating bodies in the process. I teach at the MsC Surgical Innovation course at Imperial College and have previously taught surgical skills workshops at the RCSs among others. I believe in the importance of training and education. I am involved in and leading in a number of research projects both at Imperial College and within the Bariatric unit where I currently work and have presented both nationally and internationally. I am the vice chair for the STEER group at East of England Deanery and the ROUX representative for the deanery.
