Adrian Brooke is Medical Director for Workforce Alignment in the Workforce, Training and Education Directorate of NHS England and Honorary Professor at the University of Leicester Medical School Currently as Medical Director for workforce alignment, he chairs the workforce group on the cardiovascular, respiratory and stroke strand of the NHS Long Term Plan, chairs the Distribution of Medical Training Programme Board, the Medical and Dental Recruitment Selection Programme Board and the Strategic Workforce and Recruitment group. He was appointed as Head of the Paediatric Specialty School by East Midlands Healthcare Workforce Deanery in 2011 and was Secondary Care Dean and Deputy Postgraduate Dean from 2013, before being Postgraduate Dean for Health Education England East Midlands in 2017. He was past Lead Dean for allergy, immunology, stroke, core medical training and the newly established internal medicine training programme. He was appointed as HEE Deputy Medical Director of Workforce Alignment in 2019. In 2020 he helped in the HEE response to the pandemic by coordinating the changes required to trainee rotations to support the front line of the pandemic response and leading the redesign of specialty trainee recruitment and workforce modelling at this time. He was previously Honorary Consultant Paediatrician Leicestershire Partnership NHS Trust.
