We have combined a fabric polycotton theatre hat with a durable name badge which can attach to the hats to be worn during surgery, then detach for laundering- the badge can be wiped clean using a clinell wipe or any detergent of choice and the hats laundered like scrubs.
Our reusable badge hats combines a tried and tested fabric theatre hat with a yellow name badge with black text to identify everyone in the operating theatre, including students and visitors.
Each staff member will keep hold of their name badges, just like they do with their other badges and access cards.
Staff members can wear our theatre badge hats repeatedly, even when they leave, unlike embroidered theatre hats that are lost to departments when clinicians leave because no one else can wear them.
By implementing our theatre badge hats, which we would like to distribute to all theatre departments in the UK, we can achieve the future of improving communication, reducing adverse events, improving patient safety, enhancing the patient journey whilst also making sustainable changes.
