VRiMS was set up as a way to adopt new ways of teaching surgeons, using smartphone technology with 360 degree video capture, true Virtual Reality (VR) and Augmented Reality (AR).
The key principle of this initiative is to offer all surgeons in training a free, consultant-led, immersive and three-dimensional training experience demonstrating surgical techniques with cadaveric dissection that can be accessed from anywhere in the world irrespective of rank or region.
Since it inception, VRIMS has evolved a diverse portfolio of assets spanning the metaverse, and all aspects of extended reality simulation training. This includes cirtual training of first responders, surgical simulation and point-of care pathology identification and surgical assistive decision making.
