AI methods are increasingly proposed in surgical practice but the key next step really is deployment of clinically useful algorithms. Here we demonstrate validation and deployment work regarding cancer classification and perfusion characterisation using explainable and real-world grounded methods that are developing via international, multicentre and multidiscplinary collaborations.
